Every client is unique

And they attend counselling for a multitude of reasons. Sometimes there may be one major area of concern a client would like to discuss, for others, they come with a desire to explore many topics to explore. Often a client will present with one issue, only to find something totally unconnected comes up and their focus switches to this new subject. The beauty of therapy is the client is very much in the driving seat, and the session follows whatever course is natural to the client. There is no fixed agenda, no list of ideals to achieve. It is the client’s time and what they bring to that time is entirely their choice.

Here is a list of some of the more common personal issues clients often need to explore and resolve:

Online and  telephone counselling

Personal therapy is also available online, from anywhere in the world.

Technology allows new opportunities for counselling and psychotherapy. I can provide online therapy, in English, to clients who prefer appointments from the comfort of their own homes or offices. This saves on travelling time and expenses. And for some who are unable to leave their homes, it provides easy access to a therapeutic resource.

I will always aim to make the online therapy session as easy and accessible as possible for my clients, using facilities such as Zoom.

I am also able to provide telephone counselling.

I have completed a BACP and ACTO accredited training course in Online and Telephone Counselling.

Walk with Wendy - Ecotherapy

Some clients struggle with the somewhat formal setting of a traditional therapy room. Rather than finding this a place of peace where they can explore their feelings, they may actually feel enclosed and inhibited. In these circumstances, Ecotherapy provides a wonderful solution.

By taking advantage of the wonderful countryside we are blessed with here on the Sunshine Coast, a simple walk along the shoreline or a ramble across the fields provides the client with the opportunity to engage with nature. For many, being conscious of the changing seasons and uncertainty of our climate, allows them to become aware of the similarities in our personal life. This is particularly relevant when dealing with bereavement.

For those clients who struggle to sit still, Walk and Talk therapy provides the perfect answer. Other clients may find it difficult to even speak to a therapist, and again, the simple act of being at one with nature allows an almost constant opportunity for identifying something as a discussion point, allowing the client to build a trusting rapport with their client which facilitates their confidence in opening up.

For many, Ecotherapy is a very simple but incredibly powerful tool in facilitating the therapeutic process.
